CampusPlug UG

Copyright Infringement Policy

Effective date: August 2026 · VYB-TECH HUB, trading as CampusPlug UG (registered with the Uganda Registration Services Bureau, commencement date 24 August 2026), respects the intellectual property rights of others · Issued in line with the Copyright and Neighbouring Rights Act, 2006 (Uganda)

1. Our Role

We are a hosting intermediary for User-generated listings and content. We do not create, verify, or endorse the content Users post. Where a User's listing or content infringes the intellectual property rights of a third party, responsibility rests with that User. We will nonetheless act on valid complaints as described below.

2. Prohibited Conduct

Users may not post, upload, or list any content that: reproduces copyrighted text, images, designs, logos, or media without authorization; uses another party's trademark or brand name in a misleading way (e.g., implying false affiliation or selling counterfeit goods); or infringes patents, trade secrets, or other intellectual property rights.

3. Filing a Complaint (Takedown Notice)

If you believe content on the Platform infringes your intellectual property rights, submit a written notice to support@campusplugug.com containing: identification of the copyrighted work or IP right claimed to be infringed; the exact URL or listing reference of the allegedly infringing content; your full name, contact details, and relationship to the right (owner, licensee, or authorized agent); a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the rights holder; and your physical or electronic signature. Incomplete notices may not be actioned.

4. Our Response Process

Upon receiving a valid notice, we will review the complaint and may remove or disable access to the reported content without prior notice to the User who posted it, pending resolution. We will notify the affected User of the takedown and the basis for it, where feasible. We aim to review and act on valid notices within a reasonable timeframe, typically within 5–7 business days, depending on complexity.

5. Counter-Notification

A User whose content has been removed may submit a counter-notice to support@campusplugug.com if they believe the removal was made in error, including: identification of the content removed and its original location; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the User has a good-faith belief the content was removed by mistake or misidentification; the User's name, address, and contact details; and a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda for resolution of the dispute. We may, at our discretion, reinstate content following a counter-notice unless the original complainant provides evidence of formal legal action within a reasonable period.

6. Repeat Infringers

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate the accounts of Users who are found to have repeatedly infringed the intellectual property rights of others, at our sole discretion.

7. False Claims

Submitting a knowingly false or bad-faith infringement notice may result in liability for damages, including costs and legal fees incurred by the affected User or the Platform, and may itself constitute an offence under Ugandan law.

8. No Legal Advice

This policy is an operational procedure, not legal advice. Rights holders and Users seeking to enforce or defend intellectual property rights are encouraged to consult a qualified Ugandan advocate.

9. Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda, including the Copyright and Neighbouring Rights Act, 2006, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda, sitting in Kampala, subject to the arbitration clause in our Terms of Service.
